[CALL FOR APPLICATIONS] Audio workshop “Architecture and time”

Audio Workshop Architecture and time

Schneider TM and Ksenija Ladić

31 August – 4 September 2015

Stari Grad, Stari Grad Museum

Artists interested in field recording and related musical practices are invited to a five day Audio Workshop “Architecture and time” in Stari Grad on island Hvar in Croatia headed by well-known German musician and artist Schneider TM and Croatian artist Ksenija Ladić. The workshop will take place in the Biankini Palace – Stari Grad Museum and is supported by the Goethe-Institute.

Over a period of 5 days the participants will explore the two parameters of architecture and time with the aim to translate them into music / soundscapes / audio pieces. Both topics can be taken literally and also reflected in sound. One aspect is the architecture of the city itself and the other is the architecture of sound structures, whether it is a soundscape, sound art or a song. The aspect of time can be taken as history of the city, but also as linear sound produced by the use of architecture like reverb / resonance or by playing with the material structures of found architecture, formed by certain spacial specifications. Considering these aspects the participants will be challenged to create sound works that will be presented in the end of the workshop.

he workshop is open to anyone interested in field recording and related musical practices. Prior experiences with audio software and knowledge of English are required.
