NIGHT OF MUSEUMS 2019 IN STARI GRAD MUSEUM

Night of Museums 2019 in Stari Grad MuseumAlready traditionally, Stari Grad Museum celebrates Night of Museums, and this year it will take place on Friday, February 1, starting at 18h.

Under the theme Museums – Innovation and digital future, this year at the Stari Grad Museum forgotten Old-Slavic mythology is coming to life in virtual reality. With the exhibition Bogovnik, young Novi Sad artist Konstantin Đuricković explores virtual reality and digital paganism as well as the relationship of symbols and objects through the prism of Old Slavic mythology. His deities are a combination of digital prints with symbols that represent their mythological stories and three-dimensional totems, reanimated through the AndroidTM app and VR headsets.

As an introduction to the Night of Museums, on Thursday, January 31 a robotics workshop will be held under the mentorship of Konstantin Đuričković in the Petar Hektorović Primary School. In the workshop titled Recyclobots pupils will choose discarded items, become acquainted with materials and tools, and independently create recycled robots. Moveable parts of recycled robots will connect with small engines to batteries or solar cells.

Throughout the evening, the Museum’s permanent exhibition will as always be open to all, so dress warmly and come to the museum! Admission is (100%) free!
