Dr.sc. Mladen Domazet received his doctorate in 2011 on the topic of “Stari Grad na Hvaru od ponarođenja općine do I. svjetskog rata – Otočni grad u krizi na razmeđu 19. i 20. stoljeća”. After his studies he worked as a history teacher in primary schools in Samobor, Kaštel Lukšić and Solin. Since 2007, he works on the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Split, Department of History.
His field of research includes microhistoric levels and everyday history of Central Dalmatia and the methodology of history teaching. He published papers in these areas and organised numerous exhibitions. He actively participates in scientific conferences, publishes columns and helds public lectures. He lectured at several professional conferences for teachers and professors of history in primary and secondary schools, he is the technical editor of the history textbooks, and in recent years he is investigating the archival materials of the interwar period of Stari Grad.
Let us remind that Stari Grad Museum published three books by dr.sc. Mladen Domazet on the history of Stari Grad: Suton flote jedrenjaka Staroga Grada (2004.), Stari Grad na Hvaru – otočni grad na razmeđi 19. i 20. stoljeća (2011.) te Isječci iz života – Stari Grad na otoku Hvaru (1914.- 1941.) (2016.).
