During the World exposition – EXPO in Milan, Italy, a Week of the Mediterranean diet as a part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage will be held from 17-19 September. Croatia will be presented with the presentation of Croatian Mediterranean cuisine. As part of the Week there will be a Forum on the Mediterranean diet where their presentations will have Sanja Šaban, Deputy Minister of Culture, Jelena Ivanišević from the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore and Vilma Stojković from Stari Grad Museum.
At the centre stage of the Bio Mediterranean cluster will be held a live performance by a culinary duo – Igor Živanović and Pavao Kordić, and their assistant Sonja Kordić, who will present traditional cuisine of the island Hvar. The performance will be accompanied by photos of Mario Romulić and promotional film about the island Hvar, courtesy of Stari Grad Museum.
The Mediterranean diet was registered in 2013 on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal and Croatia, and one of the competent bodies involved in safeguarding in Croatia is the Stari Grad Museum.
