With the exhibition Patagonia Through the Eyes of a Hvar Native, conceptual creator Jorge Luis Subiabre Matiacha sought to present the rich photographic legacy of Stjepan (Esteban) Kovačević Škarpa, as well as his selfless contributions to the community in which he lived, making it richer and more appreciative as a multicultural and multinational environment. His character portrait reflects the strength and contribution of the Croatian identity woven into the rich history of Chilean cultural heritage. It is precisely individuals like Stjepan (Esteban) Kovačević Škarpa who, through their mark and work, bridged the Atlantic, connecting two homelands (the old and the new) and bringing the scattered Croatian spirit closer together.
