we are pleased to invite you to the presentation of Polish photographer Paweł Jaroszewski’s photography monograph entitled Stari Grad from dusk to daybreak on Wednesday, 6 July at 9 pm at the Stari Grad Museum (garden of the Biankini Palace).
The book will be presented by the author who started working on this edition back in 2018, when an exhibition of black-and-white photographs of the same name was presented at the Stratiko gallery of the Dominican Monastery in Stari Grad. In the following months, he continued his photographic research of Stari Grad, and at his request, the late Tonko Maroević, just two months before his death, wrote the introductory text.
According to the author, the book is dedicated to T. Maroević and all his friends from Stari Grad, “a place where only good things happened to me, more than 20 years since I started coming here and where I left my heart”.
Paweł Jaroszewski was born in Kraków, and has practised photography for over 20 years. In his publications he combines photography of landscape, architecture and reportage with narration on history and personal reflections.
The publishers of this bilingual photography monograph are the Agency for the Management of the Stari Grad Plain and Stari Grad Museum, and it was printed with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Stari Grad Tourist Board.
We invite you all to the Museum and look forward to your visit!
